Copyright Policy

The Iraqi Journal of Embryos and Infertility Researches (IJEIR) is committed to a modern, author-friendly copyright policy that promotes the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge while protecting the rights of the researchers.

Authors Retain Copyright

In accordance with our Open Access philosophy, authors who publish in IJEIR retain full copyright and intellectual property rights to their work. Unlike traditional publishing models, authors are not required to transfer or assign their copyright to the journal or the publisher (Al-Nahrain University).

Licensing Rights Granted to the Journal

Upon submitting a manuscript to IJEIR, and upon its acceptance for publication, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to:

  1. First Publication: The right to be the first to formally publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
  2. Formatting and Distribution: The right to format the article for online and (if applicable) print distribution, and to archive the article in relevant digital databases and preservation networks.

Creative Commons Licensing

To clarify the rights of readers and the broader public, all articles published in IJEIR are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license:

  • Authors are free to reuse their own work (including data, figures, and text) in future publications, books, or lectures without requiring permission from IJEIR.
  • The public is granted permission to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, and to remix, transform, or build upon the material for any lawful purpose (including commercial purposes).

The only strict requirement under the CC BY 4.0 license is Attribution: Anyone reusing or distributing the published material must provide appropriate credit to the original authors and explicitly cite IJEIR as the original venue of publication.

By maintaining this policy, IJEIR ensures that authors maintain control over their intellectual output while maximizing the visibility, citation potential, and impact of their research.
